Yesterday, I received the second round of edits to my first ever published contemporary romance. In some ways this book is very new. It has a new title and a bunch of new words and a better story line with better characterization and updated details (cell phones were not a widely owned item when this book was originally published in the year 2000. Yep, the book is roughly 20 years old. What makes this book a favorable opportunity? Well, it’s already been published once, so someone besides myself saw value in it. Now that I’m self publishing (that’s a topic for another blog post), updating this book is the perfect chance to launch my own publishing efforts with a book that has known qualities. In other words, I can hedge my bets a bit as I gamble on success in self-publishing.

I suppose you’d like to know a bit about this book. I won’t release the updated version until February, when my online store opens. And I’m not even finished with the editing, revising, proofreading process. Thus I can’t tell you much about the new version. The old version is no secret, although it is technically out of print. (When does any eBook really go out of print?). The original title was The Cowboy and the Caddy. That’s been changed to Her Cadillac Cowboy. The blurb is pretty much the same.

“A rich cowboy with a classic Cadillac—sounds like the stuff of dreams for a small-town Texas girl, right?  Wrong!  Josh McKinley and his classic car have been Sara Carson’s nightmare since Josh left ten years ago.  Now the cowboy and his Caddy are back.  Sara must choose between loyalty to her family and love for the one man she shouldn’t want.

“Is the key to Sara Carson’s heart the Cadillac that their families have been feuding over for ten years?  Or will Josh McKinley have to give up the car he treasures in order to win the woman he loves?”

Wish I could show you the new cover, done by the outstanding Rae Monet but as I said earlier it’s really too early to show much other than the basic. Those basics explain why a revised edition of this book presents a favorable opportunity. Please leave a comment and tell us about your favorable opportunity.
