Friends, please welcome Tornahdo form the outstanding Kayelle Allen’s newest Expanding Universe installement, Lights Out. Tornahdo’s interview is the stuff of legends. Once you’ve met this fascinating man and his equally fascinating author, please leave a comment and tell us what more you’d like to know about Tornahdo and his world. Thanks. Let the fun begin (and don’t forget to share).

It’s late, he’s bored. What does he do?
Tornahdo was so bored once that he found a drinking straw and rolled it inside out. And then rolled it back again. He has to be doing something, if nothing more than count ceiling tiles.
What kind of food would he impulse buy if hungry?
He’s not into junk food, but he does like apple fritters with honey and powdered sugar. I’m not too sure he would pass up funnel cake if he had a minute to spare.
Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.
He’s spent his life in uniform. When off duty, he usually ends up looking just as military as he did on duty.
Does he know how to fix things?
He’s handy with most things mechanical.
He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
He was trying to defuse a hostage situation. I can’t reveal details here, but let’s say it did not go according to plan.
How does he act around children he doesn’t know?
He’s not usually around them, except for rare times with family. His cousins do get together with their families though, and he’s the adult the kids end up playing ball with or accompanying to the fishing hole. What you might call the “funcle” – the fun uncle.
What is he like first thing in the morning?
He gets up ready to go. Military all his life. It’s in his blood to wake up early.
How does he act around people who don’t know what he is?
He tries to act normal and not bring attention to himself, but if pushed, he’ll push back.
Will he let a worker handle things or do it himself?
He’s patient. Let’s people give it their best shot before jumping in.
Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?
Massive dragon tattoo across his entire back, in shades of teal and black.
Personal vehicle or public transport?
He’s never had a personal vehicle.
Recycle or toss?
Reuse till it falls apart and then use the pieces for compost. Tornahdo doesn’t waste anything.
